Our objective is to empower Undergraduates across African Tertiary Institutions, encouraging business startups and driving Entrepreneurship in Undergraduates by equipping them with the necessary tools and values required to spur economic growth, reduce unemployment rate and create social and economic wealth. We believe that our Universities and Colleges can be the foundation and building block for Africa’s Next Solid Entrepreneurs, young men and women with potentials to shape and grow a private sector driven economy. The idea at UAF is to drive youthful inclusion in the economy by equipping the youths at the early stage of their career pursuit. Founded by African Businessman and Philanthropist, Oseyomon Ighodaloh, the foundation along with the alumni of different tertiary institutions across Africa, global partners and donors is poised to make positive impact across tertiary institutions in all African Nations.

Our Objectives

OUR PHILOSOPHY

UAF believes that it is our individual and collective responsibility to raise the next generation of industry giants and world leaders. It stems from the UBUNTU philosophy which emphasizes being self through others. We believe that it takes a whole village to raise a child, a community of individuals and entities pulling in resources that include but are not limited to mental, physical, psychological, financial, social, and economic resources to grow and shape the future leaders of our world. It requires a joint effort with each of us pulling our weight in our various sectors to propel our Young ones on the right path to a successful future. At UAF, we have a goal to mitigate the obstacles and challenges that Undergraduates face and prepare a clear path for them to launch successful careers and businesses.

Why Undergraduates

Given the current demographic of Undergraduates in the society and the recent trends which have led many youths into risky and destructive actions and ventures, we discovered a need in the population.
Young people these days are inspired by the trends of success in society and are attracted by these success stories all over the world. They want to attain and even surpass this level of success and while this is a good thing as it shows hunger and zeal for progress, most of them are misguided and misinformed and end up on the wrong path.
In a quest for relevance, UAF seeks to be the connection point between Undergraduates and their future.
We chose Undergraduates because we believe that the next Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gate, Elon Musks, Dangote and other successful world leaders and entrepreneurs will emerge from them and we understand the importance of an early start as it will give them the room to learn, grow, improve, correct while getting the guidance from other experienced professionals.
This will create a chain of events that will trigger a ripple effect in society and will change the way we train our children, exposing them to a wealth of opportunities and possibilities by giving them an early start to successful lives.

UAF & SDGs

In 2015, all Member States of the UN adopted a 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development. The agenda is to promote and encourage peace and prosperity for the planet now and in the future. At the heart of the agenda lies 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are an urgent call for action by all countries in a global partnership to eradicate poverty and grow the economies of every country.

Our foundation goals are in line with SDGs 1, 2 and 8.

SDG 1

No Poverty: Through our UAF business grant scheme, we intend to reduce the unemployment rate by creating jobs and job opportunity and by extension, eradicating poverty from the society.

SDG 2

Zero Hunger: Our UAF food drive is aimed at providing food and relief materials to her beneficiaries that are in need of these items. There is also a sector of the foundation that promotes sustainable agriculture and the production of food.

SDG 8
